He served more than 10 months in Company F , 100th NY Infantry; 13Oct1864 to 28Aug1865. He was Mustered Out on 28Aug1865 at Richmond, VA. While Benjamin Faust was in service, the 100th NY Infantry regiment was engaged in the following battles which had a direct impact on the course of the war and / or a decisive influence on a campaign The 100th NY Infantry regiment was present at the surrender of Lee and his army on 09April1865 at Appomattox Court House, Va.
