Surgeon Enos G. Chase, Field & Staff, 104th New York Infantry
Died 30 May 1882 ; 54.5 years of age. Enos G. Chase enlisted as Assistant Surgeon on 03 Dec 1861 at 34 years of age. He was mustered into Field & Staff of the 104th New York Infantry on 23 Dec 1861. He served 36 months; 03 Dec 1861 to 02 Dec 1864. While Enos G. Chase was in service, the 104th New York was engaged in the following battles which had a direct and decisive influence on a campaign and / or a direct impact on the course of the war: including the assault on the Salient, the 'Bloody Angle', on 12 May 1864 including 'The Crater' or the 'Mine Explosion' before Petersburg 30 July 1864 The 104th New York Infantry regiment shared the hardships and discomforts of Gen. Burnside's 'Mud March', 20 - 24 Jan 1863. Enos G. Chase was discharged / mustered out on 02 Dec 1864 at Petersburg, Virginia, at the expiration of his term of service.
