Private Alonzo W. Phillips, 15th Massachusetts Infantry

Alonzo W. Phillips enlisted as a Private on 05 Sept 1861 at the age of 19; his residence was given as Brookfield, Massachusetts; his occupation was given as shoemaker.
He was mustered into Company 'F' Massachusetts 15th Infantry Regiment on 05 Sept 1861.
He served more than 14 months in the 15th MASS Infantry, 12 July 1861 to 06 Oct 1862.

While Alonzo W. Phillips was in service, the 15th MASS Infantry regiment was engaged in the following battles that had a direct impact on the course of the war and / or a decisive influence on a campaign:

    Coincidentally, my wife's great-grandfather, 1st Sgt. Peleg Freeman Murray, Company E, was in the same regiment as Alonzo W. Phillips.
