Lower 4 inches, set on 10 x 12 x 2.5 inch dimensioned stone footing, leveled, and plumbed.

Due to a tree root growing beneath, the headstone was raised [ ~ 4 inches ] and tilted [ pitched ] forward ~ 18 degrees.

Notably, from family history, Joseph J. Wardell was General Ulysses S. Grant's livery man for a period.
